The Grünheide Citizens‘ Initiative and the VNLB will no longer be able to organize walks in the woods. It is with a heavy heart that we have made this decision.
As of July 24, 2026, the railroad crossing and the Fangschleuse train station were closed.
The train station has been relocated. Once again, the red carpet was rolled out for Tesla. The new station is located right next to the Tesla campus. For all local residents, this now means a longer travel time to the station.
None of us want to get off right in front of the Tesla factory. The forest there has been cut down.
Therefore, we have decided to stop offering regular forest walks.
For years, the forest walks were an important part of the protest. We have reported on the threat the Tesla factory poses to the drinking water protection area.
We were able to show interested visitors the habitats of the smooth snake and the sand lizard, which live here in the forest and are threatened by Tesla’s cutting down of trees.
When the forest occupation was here, we admired the treehouses together and chatted.
People who live in the area, environmentalists, school classes, international activists, groups of students, nature lovers, scientists, and many others came.
It was a great exchange. And the fight for water justice and against Tesla is far from over.
We continue to offer forest walks for those interested upon request. To sign up, please send an email to kontakt@vnlb.de.
The citizens‘ initiative and the alliance “Tesla den Hahn abdrehen” remain active.
Thanks for all the great moments with you.
See you soon.
